The Patron Saint Festivities of San Bartolomé include a morning of free chess on Calle Linares in Mataelpino, featuring a rapid tournament, workshops, and casual games for all ages.

The locality of El Boalo, in its Mataelpino area, will celebrate an outdoor chess day on Sunday, August 23, as part of the Patron Saint Festivities of San Bartolomé. The activity, completely free of charge, will take place on Calle Linares starting at 11:30 AM and is designed for all audiences, from beginners to experienced players.

The morning will combine various proposals to bring this game closer to locals and visitors. On one hand, the Torneillo Masnou has been organized, a rapid-paced competition with a peculiar format: those who lose get up from the table and can rejoin when another player loses in a different game. There will also be learning workshops for those wanting to take their first steps and free chess tables for casual play without pressure.

Participation in the tournament requires prior registration, as places are limited. Interested individuals should sign up by sending a WhatsApp message to 626 811 910. The other activities do not require a reservation.

This event is part of Mataelpino's festive program and aims to offer a playful and family-friendly alternative in the street, with a relaxed atmosphere. The organizers encourage participation from both those who master the board and those who have never played.

For more information about the festivities, locals can check the complete program published by the El Boalo Town Hall.
