The municipality of Rascafría has prepared a programme with a planetarium, workshops, and guided observation to enjoy the eclipse on August 12. Approved glasses will be distributed at an information booth next to the sports centre.
Rascafría has organised a meeting area at the municipal sports centre Francisco Zapater and the Las Arroturas site to experience the solar eclipse on August 12 with family and safely. The Town Hall will distribute approved glasses at an information booth located near the sports centre.
The programme kicks off on the 11th with an inflatable mobile planetarium featuring projections of the universe in 30-minute sessions, from 10:00 to 14:00, with a maximum of 20 people per session. That same morning, children's workshops will be held to build sundials and learn what an eclipse is.
In the afternoon, from 18:00 to 19:30, there will be an educational solar observation session with an H-Alpha telescope. On the 12th, the day of the eclipse, a guided walk through Las Arroturas is planned to interpret the landscape and observe wildlife, along with face painting workshops, drawing, and a trivia game about eclipses.
The accompaniment to the observation site will begin at 19:30, coinciding with the start of the partial eclipse. Afterwards, the group will move to the sports centre to follow the live broadcast of the total eclipse. All activities have limited capacity and require prior registration.
