The autumn vaccination campaign against flu, COVID-19, and RSV for children in 2026 will begin in Rascafría on October 5, 2026, for those aged 60 and over and children aged 6 months to 7 years. On October 19, it will open to the rest of the population with indications.

The vaccination and immunisation campaign against flu, COVID-19, and the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) for children this autumn will start in Rascafría on October 5, 2026. In this first phase, people aged 60 and over and children aged 6 months to 7 years will be able to get vaccinated.

On October 19, 2026, vaccination will be extended to the rest of the population with indications, according to information released by the Rascafría Town Hall.

The annual flu vaccine reduces the chances of becoming ill, being hospitalised, and even dying from this disease, and protects those at greater risk of complications or severe cases. The campaign also aims to immunise those who can transmit the flu to more vulnerable individuals.

The goal is to reach 75% of older adults, according to the data from the call. The flu vaccination is associated with a reduction in cardiovascular mortality and the risk of heart attacks.

In pregnant women, flu increases the risk of miscarriages and premature births. In chronic patients, it can destabilise and complicate their underlying condition.
