The Far West Market and the VIII Night Race kick off this weekend's September programme in Tres Cantos. Plaza de la Familia hosts a Wild West settlement from this Friday until Sunday, featuring shows, music, a craft village, an exhibition of tools, and a children's area.
The market opens this Friday at 17:30 and celebrates its inauguration at 18:30 with a festive parade. The first day extends until 22:30 with Wild West music and the show The Charlatan of the West. On Saturday, it reopens at 11:00 with offerings such as Legendary Outlaws, The Gambler, Please, Don’t Shoot the Pianist!, and The Mountain Family. At 20:00, the local group Tres Cantos Country leads the Country Dance Space, and the day concludes at 22:30.
On Sunday, the entertainment resumes at 11:00, with the O.K. Corral Duel at 12:30, Jeremiah the Preacher, and The Gravedigger. A farewell parade at 21:15 wraps up the themed weekend.
On Saturday at 21:15, the VIII Night Race sets off, featuring a route of 7 kilometres through the city, finishing in front of the Polideportivo de La Luz. The distribution of race numbers begins at 20:00, and the trophy presentation is scheduled for 22:15. Participants will receive reflective wristbands.
Also on Saturday, from 11:00 to 13:00, the courts of CEIP Ciudad de Nejapa will host the Sport and Disability day, with adapted activities for all ages and a charity raffle benefiting collaborating entities.
The Las Vaquerizas Environmental Classroom offers Back to School with the Vaquerizas Classroom!, to create a school organiser using recycled materials. There are two sessions: from 10:00 to 11:30 for families with children aged 3 to 6, and from 11:40 to 13:10 for families with children aged 8 and above.
The Lope de Vega Municipal Library schedules The Magic Machine by Chameleon Theatre, an English storytelling session from 11:00 to 11:45 recommended for ages six and up, with free tickets.
The cultural offerings kick off this Friday at 19:00 in the Pedro Navares Hall of the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Centre, with the inauguration of the exhibition by the f22 Photographic Association, showcasing the 40 awarded and finalist photographs from the IX City of Tres Cantos Photography Competition. The event will include the award presentations for the categories of Nature, Travel, and Tres Cantos. The centre complements the visit with exhibitions from the Tres Cantos Painters Association in the Gutiérrez Montiel Hall and the Tres Cantos Printmakers Association Tarlatana in the Van Drell Hall.
