The fourth edition of the Crazy Car Race will take place on a street in the town centre on Saturday, September 5 at 20:00, with culinary prizes and aid of up to €150 per vehicle.
Valdemorillo is revving up for the fourth edition of its Crazy Car Race, one of the most anticipated events of the September Festivities. The event will be held on Saturday, September 5 starting at 20:00, with the starting point on a street in the town centre that will once again transform into an improvised circuit.
The competition, organised by the Town Hall, aims to surpass participation from previous years and enhance the spectacle and fun. Both teams and spectators will gather to enjoy an afternoon where ingenuity, skill, and originality will take centre stage.
The vehicles, handmade, can be of any size or weight, but must meet three mandatory requirements: they must have three wheels, a steering or control mechanism, and an effective braking system. Additionally, they cannot have any type of motor traction and must be equipped with an acoustic signalling device.
Each car will consist of a team of at least four people and one driver. The driver must wear a full-face helmet, sports shoes, long trousers, a long-sleeved shirt, and gloves, while elbow and knee pads are also recommended.
A single category is established with prizes accompanied by trophies: 1st ham and loin; 2nd ham; 3rd and 4th loin; 5th and 6th salami. Additionally, the team of the slowest car will receive sandwiches and a trophy as a special prize. The jury, composed of municipal staff, will score creativity, the group's presentation, speed, and skill in completing the circuit. In the event of a tie, a public vote will be held.
The Town Hall offers aid of up to €150 per car to cover part of the construction costs. Applications must be submitted at the Town Hall's Entry Register before 14:30 on September 4, along with the form and rules, which can be downloaded from the municipal website. Expenses will be verified by invoice before the aid is granted.
As in previous editions, the designated track area will have safety measures in place and the event will be covered by civil liability and accident insurance. To liven up the atmosphere, the presentation of the registered vehicles will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución at 19:00, one hour before the start. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition.
Those interested in participating can download the rules and registration form from the link provided by the Valdemorillo Town Hall, where all technical and safety requirements are also detailed.
