The Plaza de Toros de La Candelaria will host the XV Concentration of Classics Sierra Oeste on September 6, featuring cars and motorcycles over 30 years old. There will be an elegance contest and free entry.

The Madrid town of Valdemorillo will celebrate the XV Concentration of Classics Sierra Oeste de Madrid on September 6, an event that will bring together dozens of historic vehicles at the Plaza de Toros de La Candelaria and its parking area. The organisation is managed by the Asociación Clásicos Ruta Imperial de Valdemorillo, with special collaboration from the Fundación Eduardo Barreiros and support from the Town Hall through the Economic Promotion department.

The day will kick off at 10:00 AM with the reception of participants and will continue until 2:00 PM, with the vehicles on display throughout that time. Among the registered vehicles, everyday models such as the iconic Seiscientos and Simca 1000, luxury saloons, sports cars, iconic motorcycles, vans, and even a truck are expected, all with license plates over three decades old and many in a condition that surprises visitors.

The event maintains its competition format, with awards for the most elegant vehicle, the oldest, the best restored, and the best sports vehicle, both in the car and motorcycle categories. Entry is free for the public, who will be able to walk around the venue and enjoy an exhibition that, according to the Councillor for Economic Promotion, Eva Ruiz, allows “to observe the evolution of motoring, from the 20th century to today.”

Ruiz has encouraged locals and visitors to come and discover “the models that have marked the history of the automobile, some true museum pieces and others that continue to surprise us.” She also thanked the sponsors whose participation makes this fifteenth edition possible, which is part of the September Festivals of Valdemorillo.

The concentration, which began in July 2011 with its first call, has established itself as one of the most anticipated events in the local festive calendar. Those interested in participating can still register by sending an email to clasicosrutaimperial@gmail.com, while those who prefer to just watch can do so at no cost throughout the morning.

With the collaboration of the Fundación Eduardo Barreiros, a reference in the preservation of Spanish automotive heritage, the event promises to gather unique pieces that continue to roll on the roads, demonstrating that the passion for classics remains very much alive in the Sierra Oeste of Madrid.
