The City Council of Aranjuez has officially approved its accounts for 2026, amounting to 65.57 million euros, an 11% increase compared to the previous year. The budget reduces debt and increases investments.
The City Council of Aranjuez has completed all the necessary procedures and now has its budget for 2026 in force. The accounts, which total 65,570,709 euros, were definitively approved after the deadline for objections expired without any being submitted and after their publication in the Official Bulletin of the Community of Madrid (BOCM).
The process began on July 15, when the Plenary gave initial approval to the accounts. Following that approval, the document was made available to the public during the legally established period. As no objections were registered, the budget has been confirmed and is now the official economic framework for the municipality for this fiscal year.
These are the second accounts of the legislature and come with an 11% increase compared to the previous ones: 6,553,766 euros more than in 2025. The local government team emphasises that the increase allows for the financial improvement to be translated into public policies, with special attention to neighbourhoods, services, and investments.
The document reflects a change in model that its proponents summarise in one idea: less debt and more city. Public debt is set to decrease from 13% of the budget in 2025 to 5.7% in 2026, and the specific allocation for its payment is reduced by 59%. The allocation for Financial and Tax Administration also decreases by 24%.
This economic relief frees up resources that are redirected to services and investments. Specifically, the budget allocates more than 7.2 million euros for real investments aimed at improving streets, neighbourhoods, municipal facilities, and public spaces. The goal, according to the City Council, is to move towards a more modern and accessible city.
Moreover, 45% of the accounts are allocated to services that have a direct impact on the daily lives of residents, reinforcing the social character of the budget. With this approval, Aranjuez consolidates the path of financial recovery and now has the economic framework to carry out its actions throughout 2026.
