The Town Hall of Tres Cantos will join the demonstration called by the FEMP in solidarity with Ceuta, which will take place on September 2 at 20:00 in the Town Hall Square.
The Town Hall of Tres Cantos has confirmed its participation in the demonstration called by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) in support of the city of Ceuta. The event will be on September 2, at 20:00, in the Town Hall Square, coinciding with the celebration of Ceuta Day.
The initiative, driven by the president of the FEMP, María José García-Pelayo, aims for municipalities across Spain to gather simultaneously to show their support for the people of Ceuta. The call comes after García-Pelayo visited the autonomous city to understand the situation it is facing firsthand.
The mayor of Tres Cantos, Jesús Moreno, has emphasised the importance of the municipality joining this show of solidarity:
Tres Cantos wants to stand by Ceuta and all Ceutíes. In times like these, it is important for Spanish cities to show our solidarity, our closeness, and our commitment to coexistence and unity.
Moreno added that “municipalities are the administration closest to citizens and we must also be spaces for meeting, solidarity, and support. From Tres Cantos, we want to convey to Ceuta that it is not alone.”
The demonstration, open to all residents, aims to bring together Spanish municipalities around a message of unity and coexistence. With this event, Tres Cantos joins a network of cities that, in a coordinated manner, want to make their support for the people of Ceuta visible.
Those interested in participating can go directly to the Town Hall Square at the indicated time, without the need for prior registration.
