The Local Government Board of Ciempozuelos has approved a temporary hiring plan aimed at 50 unemployed individuals from the municipality. The programme, which will run for six months, will combine training and work experience in various municipal services.
The City Council of Ciempozuelos has greenlit an employment plan that will allow for the hiring of 50 residents in a situation of unemployment over the next six months. The measure was approved at the Local Government Board meeting held on September 4, 2026 and is part of the active employment policies promoted by the council to reduce the local unemployment rate.
The contracts will be allocated to a wide range of profiles, from gardeners and street cleaners to administrative assistants, depending on the needs of the various municipal areas. Participants will also receive additional training to enhance their employability once the contract ends.
The plan is fully funded by municipal funds, although the City Council is considering adding grants from other administrations to increase the number of positions available. The selection of candidates will be carried out through social services and the local employment agency, which will prioritise long-term unemployed individuals and families with fewer resources.
We want this to be a real opportunity for those who need it most, not just a temporary contract, but a gateway to the job market,” said the mayor of Ciempozuelos, Raquel Contreras, after the meeting.
Interested individuals must be registered as job seekers with the Public Employment Service and registered in the municipality. The City Council will publish the complete guidelines on the notice board and the electronic headquarters in the coming days, and expects contracts to start being formalised throughout October.
