The Móstoles City Council will provide 500 noise-cancelling headphones to children aged 5 to 16 with ASD, ADHD or accredited auditory hypersensitivity during the Patron Saint Festivities. The application deadline ends on Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00.
The Móstoles City Council will distribute 500 noise-cancelling headphones during the Patron Saint Festivities so that children with auditory sensitivity can enjoy the events without discomfort. This measure is aimed at minors aged 5 to 16 years registered in the municipality who present some neurodevelopmental disorder, such as ASD or ADHD, or accredited auditory hypersensitivity.
The initiative comes from the Department of Youth, Family, Equality and Cooperation. The mayor, Manuel Bautista, has stated that the aim is for "the Patron Saint Festivities to be a celebration for everyone" and that no child "should have to give up enjoying activities with their family due to noise."
With this measure, we are taking another step towards making Móstoles a more inclusive, accessible city that is attentive to the needs of all its residents.
The headphones are made from hypoallergenic materials, with padded cushions and a secure adjustment system to prevent slipping. They are resistant to impacts and intensive use, and do not have hard edges or parts that could cause injury.
Applications can be submitted until Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00, by sending the form and required documentation to the email familiamostoles@mostoles.es or in person at the Family and Equality Building, located at Ricardo Medem Street, 27. The form is available on the municipal website.
The collection of the headphones will take place on Wednesday, September 9, from 12:00 to 18:00, and on Thursday, September 10, from 10:00 to 18:00, at the same building.
The Patron Saint Festivities of Móstoles will be held from September 4 to 15. In addition to the headphones, the fairgrounds will maintain a noise-free schedule every day from 17:00 to 18:00, except on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8, when it will be from 17:00 to 19:00. People with disabilities will also have priority access to the attractions.
