The works to condition San Sebastián Street, between Constitution Square and the 'El Yiyo' roundabout, will begin in the coming weeks with a budget of €1,648,725.43 and an execution period of five months.
The Colmenar Viejo Town Hall will start the works to condition San Sebastián Street in the section from Constitution Square to the 'El Yiyo' roundabout in the coming weeks. The municipal investment amounts to €1,648,725.43, VAT included, and the expected execution period is five months.
The project includes the reorganisation of the roadway with the widening and renewal of the pavement, modification of curbs, and reorganisation of public parking spaces. Access points to homes will also be redefined, and the paving of roadways and parking areas will be replaced.
To improve accessibility, architectural barriers will be removed and adapted pedestrian routes will be created. The project incorporates new landscaped flower beds, flower plantings, and decorative hedges in tree pits, as well as the renewal of the irrigation network. Additionally, public lighting and sanitation networks, road signage, and urban furniture will be updated.
San Sebastián Street is a fundamental artery of Colmenar Viejo. It connects the daily life of the municipality and links our historic centre with the areas where urban activity is most intense. This road leads directly to the Bullring area, a key point for leisure and community, and therefore its proper functioning is essential for mobility, commerce, and the modern development of the city," explains the fifth deputy mayor and councillor for Quality and City Maintenance, Felipe Mansilla Nogales.
The councillor points out that the investment will allow for the organisation and modernisation of the environment, improve vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and prevent indiscriminate parking, with the incorporation of bus bays and loading and unloading areas designed to optimise circulation.
The works will take place over the next five months on this section of San Sebastián Street, which connects the historic centre with the Bullring area.
