The 2026/2027 school year starts in Coslada with 11,363 students in Early Childhood, Primary, ESO, Baccalaureate, and Special Education, 125 more than last year (a 1.1% increase).
The 2026/2027 school year has begun normally in all educational centres in Coslada, according to the Department of Education. In total, 11,363 students have enrolled in Early Childhood, Primary, Special Education, ESO, and Baccalaureate, which represents 125 more students than the previous year, an increase of 1.1%.
The increase is explained by the consolidation of free places for children aged 0 to 3 years, the arrival of students from other municipalities to ESO, and the expansion of Baccalaureate offerings. In Coslada, the modalities offered include Sciences and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Arts, General, and the International Baccalaureate, which is taught at the IES Miguel Catalán.
One of the new features is the establishment of CEIPSO (Centres for Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education) in three schools: San Esteban (1 classroom and 11 students), Séneca (2 classrooms and 45 students), and Alfredo Landa (1 classroom and 21 students).
Additionally, six public centres operate as preferred centres for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): CEIP Alfredo Landa, Antoni Tàpies, Blas de Otero, El Olivo, and Rosalía de Castro, and IES Miguel Catalán. The Special Education classrooms are located in CEIP Séneca and Gonzalo de Berceo.
Regarding class sizes, ESO reduces classrooms from 30 to 25 students in all courses, while in Primary, the reduction from 25 to 20 students per classroom reaches up to 2nd grade this year.
By levels, the first cycle of Early Childhood (0-3 years) has 906 enrollments (16 more); the second cycle (3-5 years) has 1,630 (13 more); Primary has 4,070 (10 more); ESO has 3,406 (62 more); Baccalaureate has 1,125 (similar to last year); and Special Education has 226 (19 more). Most enrollments are concentrated in public centres.
