The Town Hall of Fresno de Torote has opened the 'Fresno Joven' building for educational and leisure activities, created the Youth Sports Card, and granted aid to local sports clubs.
The Town Hall of Fresno de Torote has launched a package of measures aimed at the youth of the municipality, which includes the opening of the 'Fresno Joven' building, the creation of the Youth Sports Card, and subsidies for the Municipal School of Music and local sports clubs.
The 'Fresno Joven' building opened its doors in January to host the workshop of the magazine Fresno Joven, in which about 10 young people participated. The Town Hall has acquired radio equipment and musical materials, such as keyboards, drums, and guitars, to expand the educational offerings during this school year.
The mayor, Ana Isabel Arias, has highlighted that these actions "reinforce the commitment of the municipal government to youth and respond to their demands."
In terms of sports, the Youth Sports Card has been created, offering special prices at municipal facilities such as the Municipal Gym. Additionally, financial aid to the Municipal Basketball School and the Football Club is maintained, and improvements have been made to the football field, such as the renewal of lighting and the opening of the café.
The Town Hall has also granted a scholarship for excellence in sports effort to the students of the extracurricular Rhythmic Gymnastics who participated in June in the final phase of School Sports, in the Alevín category. The scholarship covers the cost of special preparation classes, and the City Council provided the space for training to the Iplacea Alkala Nahar Rhythmic Gymnastics Club.
In the educational field, this Tuesday marks the beginning of classes at the CEIPSO, a project that responds to a community demand since 2019. The building features a covered sports court and a large chessboard in the courtyard. Subsidies of 300 euros per student for the Municipal School of Music are also maintained for the 2025/26 school year.
Among other initiatives, the La Reguerilla park will feature a pumptrack for bicycles, scooters, and skateboards, and the operation of paddle courts has already been granted to the company I.padel. The mayor has met with local teenagers to gather their proposals.
