The Galapagar City Council has called for a demonstration of support and solidarity with Ceuta in light of the migration crisis that the autonomous city has been facing since the end of July. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 2 at 20:00 in front of the Town Hall, as announced by the City Council itself this Wednesday.
This call is part of the appeal made by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) to all municipalities in the country to show their institutional support for Ceuta and its citizens. Galapagar thus joins this initiative, with the presence of municipal representatives and all residents who wish to participate.
The City Council invites residents to accompany the Municipal Corporation in this gesture of solidarity, at a time when the autonomous city has been experiencing nearly a month of insecurity and uncertainty. With this action, the municipality aims to convey the support of those who, from different parts of Spain, understand the situation being faced.
The demonstration will be held outdoors, at the Town Hall entrance, and is open to all citizens. No special security measures or access restrictions have been announced, and attendees are expected to maintain the recommended distance at public events.
This initiative once again places Galapagar alongside Spanish municipalities at times when solidarity and unity are most needed, as highlighted by the City Council in its statement.
