The Majadahonda City Council has opened registration for a new programme of free workshops aimed at people over 60. The offer includes 10 workshops and 138 places, which will be held between October and December at the Reina Sofía Municipal Centre for the Elderly.
The programme is part of the agreement signed by the Community of Madrid and the La Caixa Foundation, and aims to promote active ageing, personal autonomy, and the emotional well-being of participants.
Compared to the last quarter of 2025, the offer has increased: from 7 to 10 workshops and from 102 to 138 places. This increase allows more residents interested in continuing to learn and participate to be reached.
Four of the workshops focus on digital skills and daily autonomy: Carry out procedures online, Prepare for your outing, Communicate online, and Images to remember. New to the programme is Journalistic Interpretation, a workshop designed to develop personal judgement through the analysis of journalistic texts in a participatory environment.
The programme is completed with activities for physical well-being, cognitive health, and healthy habits such as Nourish your well-being, Get active, and Live with purpose, as well as creative and social proposals like Poetic Writing and Workshop on Good Treatment.
People over 60 who are registered in Majadahonda and are not currently employed can register. The deadline is 15 September. Applications can be submitted in person at the reception of the Municipal Centre for the Elderly, from 11:30 to 13:30 and from 17:30 to 19:30, or by sending the application to the email centrodemayores@majadahonda.org.
