The City Council of Manzanares el Real encourages residents and associations to send videos of up to 30 seconds explaining how to combat racism, on the occasion of International Peace Day. The contributions will be combined into a collective video.
The City Council of Manzanares el Real has launched a citizen initiative to commemorate the International Day of Peace, which will be celebrated on September 20, 2026. The proposal consists of recording a video of no more than 30 seconds explaining how to combat racism and sending it to the email comunicacion@manzanareselreal.es.
With all the contributions received, the council will create a joint video that highlights the proposals of residents and associations, conveying a collective message against racism. The date coincides with the first anniversary of Manzanares el Real as an International Zone of Culture of Peace, a recognition that the municipality celebrates with a program of cultural, participatory, and awareness-raising activities.
The initiative comes from the Community Council for Culture of Peace, which promotes proposals to turn this celebration into a space for meeting and reflection. The City Council encourages all citizens to participate with the slogan: “Your voice also counts. Participate and help us build a society free of racism.”
Those interested can send their videos until September 20 to the indicated email address.
