The Equality Department of Colmenar Viejo has assisted 176 women in the first six months of the Employment and Equality Support Service, 82 of whom are victims of gender violence.
The Employment and Equality Support Service of Colmenar Viejo has carried out 176 assistances to women in its first six months of operation, according to the Equality Department. Of these, 82 correspond to victims of gender violence, a group that receives specific support to achieve their economic autonomy.
The service, launched by the City Council, works with a comprehensive approach to employment from the perspective of equal opportunities. Its aim is to reduce inequalities, improve employability, promote work-life balance, and move towards a more equal labour market in the municipality.
The councillor for Equality, Isabel Álvarez Díaz, has positively assessed these first months: “They have allowed us to support many women in their job search and improvement processes, offering them individualized attention tailored to their needs.” The councillor has emphasized the intention to continue strengthening the service, especially the support for women victims of gender violence.
The direct assistance to women includes socio-labour guidance, support in active job searching, preparation or updating of CVs, and information on training and employment resources. In the case of victims of gender violence, special attention is given to developing their economic autonomy and self-esteem.
Additionally, the service works with companies to promote equality in the workplace. During these six months, companies such as Residencia Amavir, Los Gladiolos, CLECE, Fundación Polibea, Compass Group, Hotaza Colectividades, and Atende Servicios Integrados have collaborated by sharing their hiring needs. As a result, the most demanded profiles have been identified, and some hires have already been made, with candidates being evaluated for new positions.
The City Council invites more companies in the municipality to join this collaboration to bring job opportunities to women and foster a business fabric committed to talent, equality, and work-life balance. Women interested in the service can contact the Equality Department for individualized assistance.
