The Town Hall of Tres Cantos has presented a series of proposals to the Regional Transport Consortium of the Community of Madrid to improve urban and interurban bus lines, including increasing the frequencies of lines 717, 712, 713 and 716 and restoring routes to Plaza de Castilla when construction allows.
The Town Hall of Tres Cantos has requested the Regional Transport Consortium of the Community of Madrid (CRTM) for new improvements to the bus lines serving the municipality. The request was made during a meeting held at the CRTM facilities between the mayor, Jesús Moreno, and the councillor for Urban Development, Works and Mobility, María del Mar Sánchez, with the managing director of the agency, Pablo Rodríguez Sardinero.
Among the main demands is the increase in frequency of line 717, which currently has intervals of 45 minutes on weekdays and up to 120 minutes on weekends and holidays. There has also been a request to increase the frequencies of lines 712, 713 and 716 during Saturdays and holidays, when waiting times average around 45 minutes.
The Town Hall has also proposed strengthening the night line N701, with intervals of up to 90 minutes at certain times, and improving public transport services around the HM Tres Cantos Hospital. Furthermore, it has insisted on restoring the routes and frequencies to Plaza de Castilla for interurban lines as soon as construction progress allows.
Tres Cantos needs its public transport to continue evolving at the same pace as the city and to respond to the real needs of those who travel daily for work, education, health or leisure," stated Jesús Moreno.
In urban transport, the mayor and the councillor have reiterated the unification of lines L4 and L5 and the extension of their hours. The service currently ends at 20:40 on weekdays and at 21:15 on weekends and holidays.

The Consortium has also received the request for the regulation approved in January 2026 regarding the conditions for transporting objects by bus users to be extended to urban transport in the municipality.
The meeting is part of the periodic dialogue between the Town Hall of Tres Cantos and the CRTM. The mayor has thanked the regional government for its ongoing collaboration and has assured that the municipal government "will always continue working with the Community of Madrid to implement all possible improvements that allow for progress towards more efficient and sustainable public transport."
