The Town Hall of Tres Cantos opens a survey for over 14,000 residents aged 60 and above to set the priorities for the SAVIA Plan 2026-2030. The document continues from the previous plan, which executed 95% of its actions.
The Town Hall of Tres Cantos, through the Department of Seniors, has launched a survey aimed at more than 14,000 residents over 60 years old in the municipality. The results will serve to establish the priorities of the new SAVIA Plan 2026-2030, as reported by the Council.
The consultation comes after several months of work in participation groups organized by age brackets, where insights have been gathered on how the seniors of Tres Cantos live, what their concerns are, and how they wish to engage in the city as they age.
The mayor, Jesús Moreno, has stated that the goal is for this demographic to maintain an active role in decisions that affect them.
We want older people to continue to play a leading role in decisions that impact their present and future. Their experience, knowledge, and understanding of our city are essential for adapting it to an increasingly active population with new needs.
The councillor for Seniors, Sonia del Amo, explained that the survey will reach more residents than the participation groups and identify new needs. Among the challenges the plan will address, she highlighted unwanted loneliness.
These results will help establish the priorities on which the SAVIA Plan 2026-2030 will be structured.
The new document is based on the SAVIA Plan 2020-2025, which concluded with 95% of the planned actions executed: 117 actions evaluated through 308 monitoring indicators. Over 1,000 seniors participated in its development, with 225 engaging directly in focus groups and diagnostic activities.
This prior evaluation allowed for the promotion of measures in accessibility, safety in public spaces, intergenerational relationships, social participation, and reducing the digital divide, as well as identifying new challenges in long-term care, support for caregivers, and improving communication and participation channels.
Throughout the process, the SAVIA Motor Group, composed of seniors from the municipality, plays an active role in reviewing progress and participating in the design, monitoring, and subsequent evaluation of the plan. The mayor has encouraged residents to respond to the survey.
Every response will help us better understand how our seniors want to live, enjoy, and participate in Tres Cantos, and, above all, to transform their opinions and proposals into priorities and concrete actions for the coming years.
