The Local Security Board, co-chaired by the Government delegate and the mayor, has coordinated the operation for the 2026 Velilla Festivals, with reinforcement of agents and violet points.
The Government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of Velilla de San Antonio, Antonia Alcázar, have co-chaired the Local Security Board to coordinate the device for the 2026 Patronal Festivals. The meeting was also attended by the Councillor for Citizen Security, Rodrigo Morales, and representatives from the Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection, and the Community of Madrid.
During the meeting, the Government delegate highlighted the good coordination among the Security Forces and Bodies, which places Velilla de San Antonio 20 points below the average of the Community of Madrid in terms of security over the past year. He also described the security plan for the festivals as "an example for other municipalities."
The operation, similar to previous years, will include personnel from Local Police, Civil Guard, and private security. Additionally, Violet Points will be reinstalled to ensure safe spaces and support against gender-based violence. The delegate wanted to acknowledge the efforts of the City Council and the Security Forces in protecting women victims of gender violence and congratulated the municipality for its good practices in this area.
The mayor especially thanked the work of Civil Protection, which she defined as "a benchmark." For their part, the Councillor for Citizen Security and the head of Local Police announced that for this festival, four more agents will be added to the staff and three canine units, which will be distributed in the areas of highest attendance.
After the meeting, the mayor invited the Government delegate to visit some areas of the municipality.
