Villanueva de la Cañada has launched the renovation works on Peligros Street, an intervention that will transform this road into a pedestrian priority space. The works, initiated by the Town Hall, involve renewing the pavement to unify the entire street at the same level, which will improve accessibility and make the environment more comfortable and safe for pedestrians.
The project has a budget of €220,000 and is expected to be completed after the summer. Over the coming weeks, residents will notice changes in traffic and parking in the area, although the Town Hall has scheduled the works during the summer to take advantage of the lower traffic intensity and minimise disruption.
This renovation adds to other urban improvements that the Town Hall is carrying out in various parts of the municipality. Among them, notable works include road adjustments on Santa Teresa de Jesús and Jacinto Benavente streets, as well as improvements to the tree pits on Gaudí Avenue.
Additionally, works are underway to expand and improve access areas to parking spaces for people with reduced mobility. This initiative will be developed progressively until reaching the 129 spaces available in the municipality, which will facilitate daily life for people with disabilities.
The Town Hall has reminded that these interventions are part of a broader public space improvement plan, which will continue after the summer with new actions in other streets of the municipality.
