The Villanueva de la Cañada Town Hall removes curbs and unevenness on Peligros Street to create a single platform at the same level. The work includes tactile paving and underground cabling.
The mayor of Villanueva de la Cañada, Luis Partida, has visited the renovation works on Peligros Street, a municipal action that eliminates curbs and unevenness between the pavement and roadway to leave the entire street at the same level. He was accompanied by the councillor for Urban Planning, Works, Urban Developments and Public Services, Gabriel García Gala, and the head of the Infrastructure and Building Service, Diego Opazo.
The project prioritises pedestrians: vehicles will still be able to circulate to access homes, garages and services, but they will do so at a very reduced speed. The design of the street, with less visual space for cars and a paving that replaces asphalt, aims to encourage drivers to slow down.
The new surface is paved with concrete cobblestones of different finishes and shades. These materials allow for the distinction between pedestrian areas and vehicle zones without creating a physical separation, and also differentiate access to garages. Additionally, tactile paving is installed, with relief in necessary points to facilitate orientation and alert visually impaired individuals to elements.
The reurbanisation includes the renewal and organisation of other elements of the street: surface water collection, adjustment of access points, new telecommunications conduits to bury telephone cabling, and adaptation of signage to the new circulation regime.

The work is progressing on Peligros Street in Villanueva de la Cañada. The works continue with paving and the installation of services; no completion date has been provided.
