The Alcalá de Henares City Council has approved two lines of grants for local entities and athletes, with a total budget of €112,000.
The Alcalá de Henares City Council has green-lighted the regulatory bases for two lines of financial aid aimed at local sports. The first seeks to promote grassroots sports in the municipality, while the second supports entities and individual athletes participating in non-professional official competitions during the 2025-2026 season.
The grants cover from the regional to the international level. At the regional level, they include the Madrid Championships and the final phases of the regular league; at the national level, the preliminary phases and the Spanish Championships, as well as the promotion phases to higher categories; and at the international level, the qualifiers for European, World, and Olympic Games, in addition to the championships themselves.
The Councillor for Sports, Lola López, highlighted that “both grants aim to promote the development and encouragement of sports activities by sports entities and individual athletes, through promotion and participation because sport provides significant benefits for the integral development of personality, in addition to contributing to the general well-being of the population.”
The total budget amounts to €112,000. Of that amount, €82,000 is allocated to promoting grassroots sports, while the remaining €30,000 finances participation in official competitions.
Applications can be submitted from September 1 to 15, 2026, inclusive. The complete bases are available on the Alcalá es Deporte website, where the requirements and necessary documentation are detailed.
With this call, the Alcalá de Henares City Council reinforces its support for local sports, a budget that directly benefits clubs and athletes from the municipality who compete outside the city.
