The Alcalá de Henares City Council will invest 450,000 euros in replacing the artificial grass of an 11-a-side football field on Cogolludo Street and a 7-a-side football field on Aguadores Promenade.
The Alcalá de Henares City Council has approved the terms for renewing the artificial grass of two municipal sports facilities. The project, which will be contracted under a leasing model, has an estimated budget of 450,000 euros.
The work will affect the 11-a-side football field located at number 2 Cogolludo Street and the 7-a-side football field on Aguadores Promenade. The contract includes both the installation and maintenance of the new grass system.
The Councillor for Sports, Lola López, highlighted that “this is a very necessary action that will improve the conditions for sports practice.” The terms include the removal of the current grass, as well as goals, corner flags, and benches, which will be reinstalled after the work is completed.
In addition, the necessary mechanical work will be carried out, and the new grass will be installed along with the irrigation and drainage systems to ensure its proper maintenance. The replacement adds to the one already carried out at the Jorge Ángel González Vivas field and at the Espartales field during Judith Piquet's term.
With this investment, the City Council continues to improve the sports infrastructure of the city, directly benefiting the clubs and residents who use these facilities daily. The contract will be awarded in the coming weeks after the administrative process.
