The Rivas-Vaciamadrid City Council opens the application period for places in the municipal sports schools for the 2026-2027 season. There are two periods depending on whether the activity requires a level test or not.

The Sports Department of Rivas-Vaciamadrid will open the application period for places in the municipal sports schools for the 2026-2027 season on July 7. This period is aimed at new students, once the automatic renewal for last season's participants who meet the requirements to maintain their registration has closed.

The municipal sports schools group thousands of residents: at the beginning of 2026, there were 11,300 registrations, of which 51% correspond to women. The offer includes activities ranging from swimming and skating to tennis, paddle, indoor cycling, and weight training, among others.

The general application period for schools without a level test runs from July 7 to September 10. Excluded from this period are the extracurricular school activities, swimming, paddle, tennis, skating (only the groups from Cerro del Telégrafo), indoor cycling, and weight training.

For schools with a level test, which include swimming (all modalities except for pregnant women), tennis, paddle, and skating (Cerro del Telégrafo groups), pre-registration will take place from August 27 to September 10. Appointments for the level test will begin to be distributed on August 27 at 9:00 through the website inscripciones.rivasciudad.es, and the tests will be held from September 1 to 8.

In swimming and skating, children born in 2021 and 2022 who choose the option 'Does not know how to swim' or 'Does not know how to skate' will be able to participate in the draw without a level test, as their activity will take place in the children's pool. Those opting for the level test to demonstrate basic knowledge must do so mandatorily. For those born between 2011 and 2020, the level test is mandatory in these two disciplines.

If more than one pre-registration is detected for the same activity, the Sports Department will annul all registrations made, with only the last application being valid.

In tennis and paddle, the level test is mandatory for all ages, both children and adults. In all cases, pre-registration is done on the website inscripciones.rivasciudad.es; those needing assistance can write to deportesadministracion@rivasciudad.es or call 91 666 50 33 and 91 670 11 40.

Each person can submit only one pre-registration per activity and choose a maximum of four groups in order of preference. The Department warns that only the time slots that can genuinely be attended should be marked: if a place is obtained in one of the chosen groups in the draw, the individual will not move to the waiting list for the other three.

The draw for places will take place on Wednesday, September 16 at 10:00 at the offices of the Sports Department. The results will be published that same day starting from 22:00 on the municipal website rivasciudad.es, in the Sports section, and the Department will send an email with the next steps.

Confirmation of places will be done from September 16 to 21 online at inscripciones.rivasciudad.es, or in person by appointment at the offices of the Department (until 20:00, except weekends). The waiting list will remain open until the end of the season, and from September 28, new pre-registrations can be requested or accessed.

For indoor cycling and weight training, registration is direct via email at deportesadministracion@rivasciudad.es, without prior draw.
