The 36th edition of the 10K popular race in San Agustín del Guadalix will take place on September 13 with new features: a 5K distance and collaboration with Bluefamily.
The town of San Agustín del Guadalix has already opened the registration period for its traditional popular race, the Cuesta del Tirón, which this year reaches its 36th edition and will be held on Sunday, September 13. The event maintains its usual spirit but comes with at least two new features that expand its offerings.
The main novelty is that, in addition to the usual 10 kilometres, a distance of 5 kilometres has been added. In total, there are 500 places for the 10K and 300 for the 5K, while the children's categories have no registration limit.
Another new feature is the charitable project for this edition. The organisation will collaborate with the Bluefamily association of San Agustín del Guadalix, which supports families with children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder). Those who wish can make a donation when formalising their registration.
Registrations are free and can only be made through the official website of the event, cuestadeltiron.es. The registration period is now open, and high demand is expected, so interested parties should hurry to secure their bib number.
The day's programme will kick off at 09:30 hours with the absolute 10K and 5K races, and at 11:00 hours it will be the turn of the younger categories. The route maintains the layout of the last seven years, with a two-lap circuit that will allow runners to pass by the athletics track up to three times: at the start, at approximately kilometre 6.5, and at the finish line.
With this structure, the organisation aims to maintain the festive atmosphere that characterises the event, one of the most anticipated sporting events in the local calendar. The residents of San Agustín del Guadalix and nearby municipalities thus have a new opportunity to participate in a race that combines sport, solidarity, and tradition.
