The Town Hall of Los Santos de la Humosa has announced measures to alleviate the absences of the family doctor at the local clinic, aiming to ensure healthcare for residents.
The Town Hall of Los Santos de la Humosa has launched a plan to reinforce family medicine care in the municipality, in response to the absences recorded at the local clinic. The measure aims to prevent residents from being left without a medical appointment and to reduce trips to other health centres.
According to municipal sources, the reinforcement includes the hiring of additional healthcare staff and the extension of operating hours at the clinic, which is managed by the Primary Care Management of the Community of Madrid. The Town Hall has formally requested the Health Department to expedite the coverage of absences.
The lack of a family doctor has led in recent weeks to some patients having to wait several days for an appointment or travel to nearby towns such as Alcalá de Henares. The clinic in Los Santos de la Humosa serves over 2,000 registered residents, a number that increases in summer due to seasonal population.
The Town Hall has set up an information phone line (918848001) so that residents can check appointment availability and learn about updated hours. It also reminds that appointments can be requested through the app and website of the Community of Madrid.
The council is asking the population for patience and insists that the absences are temporary, while the definitive coverage of the position is being processed. A meeting with the Primary Care officials is scheduled for next week to address the situation and seek medium-term solutions.
