The grass field of the athletics stadium at the Cerro del Telégrafo sports complex in Rivas-Vaciamadrid reopens on August 14 following a €273,000 investment.

The grass field of the municipal athletics stadium at Cerro del Telégrafo in Rivas-Vaciamadrid will be operational from next August 14. The City Council has invested €273,000 in a comprehensive renovation that improves safety and training and competition conditions for athletes.

The works, which began on June 1, have been carried out during the summer to coincide with the lowest sports activity. The project was agreed upon with the main user clubs, such as the Club Deportivo Elemental Atlético Rivas Rugby and Osos de Rivas, and was also coordinated with the athletics and triathlon clubs, which can now return to using the track.

The project included the replacement of the artificial grass on the playing field, the warm-up area known as the semicircle, the finishing straight, and the perimeter access. The new surface now features markings for the four sports practiced: rugby, American football, football 11, and football 7.

Additionally, the elastic base under the grass has been repaired, all sprinklers have been replaced, and the cistern has been cleaned. The goals and their protections have also been replaced, enhancing the functionality and safety of the entire facility.

With this improvement, the Rivas City Council continues to modernise its sports facilities. Local clubs will have a space adapted to the needs of each discipline for their upcoming training sessions and competitions.
