The Boadilla del Monte City Council has finalised a cultural programme until the end of the year featuring theatre, music, dance, and family activities. Events are spread across the Municipal Auditorium Raphael, the Princess Doña Leonor Theatre, and the Palace of Infante D. Luis.
The Boadilla del Monte City Council has presented the cultural programme for the last quarter of the year, including theatre, music, dance, family shows, literature, and exhibitions held in various venues throughout the municipality.
The Municipal Auditorium Raphael hosts the main theatrical events. Los Despiertos will kick off the cycle on 26 September at 19:30; followed by La comedia de la olla on 5 October, La tabernera del puerto on 17 October, and La ratonera on 24 October, all at 19:30.
Music and dance also have a place at the Auditorium. On 10 October at 19:30, the Spanish dance show Arraigo will be performed; on 12 October at 19:00, Recorriendo el mundo a través de la danza will take the stage; on 18 October at 18:00, the Music Band of the Plaza Monumental de Las Ventas will present the bullfighting pasodoble concert Oro, seda y pasodoble; and on 31 October at 19:30, Las mil y una noches, a music and storytelling show, will be featured.
November brings the Jazz Festival. On 13 at 19:30, the Jazz Band will perform, and on 14, at the same time, Martirio and Chano Domínguez will present Canciones de nuestra vida. In December, on the 12 at 19:30, the Auditorium will host a concert by Montserrat Martí Caballé.
The family programme includes the musical Hadas on 7 November at 18:00; Swing for Kids on 15 November at 12:00; Ragnarök on 21 November at 18:00; and BoBo on 19 December with two performances at 17:00 and 18:30. At the Princess Doña Leonor Theatre, Cuento de Navidad, encapsulando a Dickens will be performed on 21 December at 18:00. In December, El villano de la Navidad will arrive on 22 and Drilo Cocodrilo on 28, both at 18:00 in the Municipal Auditorium Raphael.
The Palace of Infante D. Luis will host the III Festival Luigi Boccherini on 10, 12, 17, 18, and 19 September at 19:30. From 3 to 23 September, the exhibition Un río vertical, from the Canal de Isabel II, can be visited; on 25 September at 19:30, the book La Guerra Civil en Boadilla del Monte by Miguel Ángel García Valero will be presented; and on 27 September, there will be a family treasure hunt of historical heritage from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:30.
In October, on 17 and 18, the gardens of the Palace will host the Wine Fair, and from 1 to 25, a collection of Spanish Military Uniforms from the 19th and 20th centuries will be on display. The Night of the Dead will be celebrated on 31 October and 1 November, and between 4 December and 10 January, the Neapolitan Nativity Scene and the Mystery will be installed.
The Municipal Theatre Princess Doña Leonor will programme the cycle Cinema in the Leonor with screenings of Asesinato en el Orient Express (14 October), Los tres mosqueteros (21 October), Carrie (11 November), Pinocho (25 November), La historia interminable (2 December) and Policán (16 December). Admission is free until full capacity is reached. The theatre will also host storytelling sessions, baby story sessions, book presentations, and conferences, and the municipal libraries will develop activities throughout the quarter.
The traditional Christmas Concerts will be held in the churches of San Cristóbal, Antiguo Convento, and Santo Cristo de la Misericordia. The programme is completed with painting exhibitions at the Juan González de Uzqueta Senior Centre and the Training Centre.
