The Casa de Cultura in San Lorenzo de El Escorial has scheduled a concert by the group Vakareiropas koklētāji for Friday, September 25, with free entry until full capacity is reached. The programme combines traditional Latvian music with two teachers from the Maestro Alonso Municipal School of Music and Dance.

The international group Vakareiropas koklētāji (Western European Kokle Players) will perform on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the Casa de Cultura in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The concert will start at 18:30 and entry will be free until full capacity is reached.

The ensemble brings together musicians and enthusiasts of the kokle, a traditional string instrument from Latvia, residing in various countries across Western Europe. It was founded in 2017 to keep the Latvian musical tradition alive and to unite performers of this instrument.

Under the direction of Aiga Ožehovska, the group has participated in the Latvian Song and Dance Festival held in Esslingen (Germany) in 2022 and in the XXVII National Song and Dance Festival of Latvia, held in Riga in 2023.

The programme includes traditional Latvian music, vocal pieces, and a selection of popular dances from various European countries. The ensemble has also prepared performances linked to the venue where they are performing, in collaboration with two teachers from the Maestro Alonso Municipal School of Music and Dance: David Huerta on the dulzaina, and Víctor Gallego on percussion.

The San Lorenzo de El Escorial Town Hall invites residents and visitors to attend this event to learn about the Latvian musical tradition. Access to the concert does not require an invitation or prior reservation: entry is on a first-come, first-served basis until the Casa de Cultura reaches full capacity.
