The 33rd Antiques and Second-Hand Book Fair of San Lorenzo de El Escorial opened this Saturday at the Patio of the Casa de Cultura, where it will remain until August 16. The event brings together six bookstores with collections ranging from bibliographic rarities and literary antiques to second-hand, out-of-print, and bargain books.

The offerings include works with over a century of history, well-crafted bindings, and copies in good condition at affordable prices. The variety of genres is wide: fiction, crime novels, historical novels, poetry, and popular science, as well as stories and comics for the little ones.

Among the exhibitors are Sirnilan Comics, Librería Bordadores, Aflas Arranca Thelma, Zaitegui Libros, Librería Coriasso, and Librería Reencuentro. Works related to San Lorenzo de El Escorial and its surroundings are expected to be among the most sought after, according to the organizers.

The mayor, Carlota López Esteban, has described the fair as one of the most anticipated events of the cultural summer: “It is a wonderful opportunity to discover small literary treasures, reconnect with books that are no longer easily found, and bring reading to all ages.”

We encourage locals and visitors to stroll through the booths, be surprised by their collections, and enjoy the experience of searching, browsing, and choosing a book with history.

The fair opens every day in two shifts: from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00. Admission is free and the activity is part of the municipality's summer cultural program.
