The Community of Madrid has launched a call for emergency aid for self-employed workers whose activities have been affected by the forest fires in Sierra Oeste during the summer of 2026. Chapinería is listed among the included municipalities, so local self-employed individuals with a tax residence or activity in the area can apply for the aid if they meet the requirements.
The call includes two fixed-amount aids, which can be requested separately or together. The first, amounting to €5,000, is intended for business recovery: it covers the costs of necessary work to resume the business and the consequences of the interruption. To access this aid, the damages, losses, interruptions, or restrictions suffered must reach a minimum estimated value of €5,000.
The second aid is equivalent to six months of the minimum contribution fee: €1,798 for those affiliated with the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) and €1,389 for those enrolled in an alternative social security mutuality.
Generally, it will not be necessary to justify the use of the funds with invoices, although the Administration may carry out any checks it deems appropriate.
Requirements and Deadline
Beneficiaries can be self-employed individuals who are registered in the RETA or in an alternative mutuality, who have their tax residence or carry out their activity in one of the included municipalities, and who had started their activity prior to the fire or the declaration of emergency. They must also be up to date with tax obligations with the State Agency for Tax Administration, the General State Administration, and the Community of Madrid, not be subject to prohibitions for receiving subsidies, have developed a Risk Prevention Plan if required, and comply with conditions regarding other public aids and the de minimis regime.
The application submission period begins on September 9, 2026 and ends on November 8, 2026. The processing is carried out exclusively by electronic means, with recognised electronic signature.
The Chapinería City Council recommends that self-employed individuals who may be beneficiaries do not wait until the last moment, as the aids are granted while credit is available.
