The Community of Madrid opens a line of grants for small and medium-sized commercial, service and artisan enterprises affected by the fires in the Sierra Oeste. Chapinería is among the municipalities included, and the application period begins on 10 September.
Small and medium-sized enterprises in Chapinería that have seen their activities affected by the wildfires in the Sierra Oeste during the summer of 2026 can apply for emergency aid of 10,000 euros, which increases to 15,000 euros if, at the time of application, the company has been unable to resume its activities due to serious damage to its establishment. This is outlined in the call opened by the Community of Madrid, which includes Chapinería among the beneficiary municipalities.
The application period begins on 10 September 2026 and ends on 10 November 2026. The processing is carried out exclusively by electronic means, so it is necessary to have a system of electronic signature recognised by the Community of Madrid.
These aids are available to small and medium-sized enterprises with legal personality, communities of goods, and other entities without legal personality that carry out commercial, service, and artisan activities. Self-employed workers registered in the RETA or in an alternative mutuality are excluded, for whom there is a specific line of emergency aid.
To be considered an SME, the company must meet the established criteria: small enterprises must have fewer than 50 employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet equal to or less than 10 million euros; medium-sized enterprises must have fewer than 250 employees and an annual turnover of less than 50 million euros or a total annual balance equal to or less than 43 million euros.
Among the requirements, the economic activity must have started before 23 July 2026, the date on which the national emergency was declared due to the fires. The company must have suffered damages, losses, interruptions, or restrictions due to the fires or the measures taken to extinguish them, and the amount of these damages must be equal to or greater than the amount of aid requested. It is also necessary to be up to date with tax obligations to the Tax Agency, the Community of Madrid, and Social Security, as well as obligations arising from previous grants.
The entity must not be in any circumstances that prevent obtaining grants and must have, when applicable, a Risk Prevention Plan. It must also inform about other aid requested or obtained for the same purpose and declare those received under the de minimis regime, which must not exceed 300,000 euros in the three years prior to the grant.
Before submitting the application, the company must be registered in the Third Party Database of the Community of Madrid and have a registered bank account. The call specifies that the bank account must be included in that database.
