The Town Hall of San Lorenzo de El Escorial has implemented a training, digitisation, and sustainability programme for the local tourism and commerce sector, funded with 30,000 euros from NextGenerationEU. The initiative connects entrepreneurs with the municipality's Smart City Platform.
The tourism and commerce sector of San Lorenzo de El Escorial now has new digital tools following the launch of a comprehensive initiative funded with 30,000 euros from NextGenerationEU. The programme covers everything from identifying the needs of establishments to implementing technological solutions for promotion and sustainable management.
The initiative includes identifying and segmenting the shortcomings of each business, analysing applicable technological solutions, and providing specialised training modules. It also includes the development of self-diagnosis tools for quality and digital maturity by the entrepreneurs themselves.
One of the project's key areas is connecting local entrepreneurs with the municipal digital ecosystem and the Smart City Platform. This integration allows for the updated dissemination of the municipality's commercial, hospitality, and tourism offerings and coordinates them with municipal channels.
Among the implemented tools are digital promotion systems, surveys, reservations, environmental management, product packaging, and digital menus. The programme also includes consulting, configuration, documentation, and training tasks so that establishments can utilise these solutions.
The initiative has been developed using funds from the European NextGenerationEU programme, which provides the 30,000 euros of the budget. Participating businesses now have the training and technological resources to integrate into the municipal platform.
