The City Council of San Lorenzo de El Escorial has launched the Tourist Card, in both physical and virtual formats, funded by €175,000 from the NextGenerationEU funds. The system allows for identification, access to municipal wifi, reservations, and payments for visits.
The City Council of San Lorenzo de El Escorial has designed, developed, and installed the Tourist Card for the municipality, which is now operational in both physical and virtual modes. The initiative has included consultancy and implementation planning, necessary hardware and software, integration with municipal systems, and the infrastructure for its operation.
The card allows for the identification of the cardholder for physical and logical access, connection to the municipal wifi network, management of reservations, tickets, and payments for events and tourist visits, as well as consultation of information and usage history. The project is financed with €175,000 from NextGenerationEU funds.
The system incorporates Mifare Plus EV1 cards, personalisation means, NFC validation and recharging devices, a payment gateway, and integration with the Smart City Platform. The awarded offer also includes electronic signature via digital certificate.
With this tool, visitors can manage their reservations and access through a single medium, while the City Council obtains data on the use of municipal tourist services. The card is already operational and can be requested at the City Hall.
