The Town Hall of Colmenar Viejo is carrying out five improvement projects in public educational centres this summer, with a total investment of 609,502.18 euros. The works take advantage of the non-school period to renew access, pavements, and energy efficiency.
The Town Hall of Colmenar Viejo has launched a package of improvement works this summer in five public educational centres in the municipality, with a total investment of 609,502.18 euros. The work, which is being carried out now that the classrooms are empty, aims to renew facilities and adapt them to the current needs of the educational community.
The Councillor for Education, Lorena Colmenarejo, highlighted the commitment of the City Council to public education: “We firmly believe that investing in our educational centres is investing in the future of Colmenar Viejo.” In the last three years, the Town Hall has allocated nearly two million euros to these improvements.
The projects are distributed among nursery schools, primary schools, and a special education centre:
At the Casita de Niños Nursery School, all interior doors and pavements are being completely renewed, with a budget of 94,350.77 euros. At the Los Enebros Nursery School, the work includes replacing doors and windows to improve energy efficiency and constructing a new porch, with an investment of 116,784.59 euros.
The CEIP Tirso de Molina sees its outdoor spaces renovated to make them more accessible and safe, with 143,061.97 euros. At the CEIP Ángel León, the work focuses on the drainage and rainwater evacuation system, with 136,907.74 euros, to prevent damage from rain. The CPEE Miguel Hernández improves accessibility by expanding access for people with reduced mobility, with 118,397.11 euros.
These works are in addition to the annual maintenance contract for educational centres, endowed with 375,000 euros, which addresses the needs that arise during the school year. The aim is for students to find the facilities renewed upon their return from the holidays.
