Getafe City Council has approved a new call for grants to install elevators and improve the energy efficiency of facades and roofs, with a total budget of 425,000 euros. The works must be completed by 2025 and the grants cover up to 25% of the cost.
The Governing Board of Getafe City Council has given the green light to a new call for grants for the installation of elevators and the energy rehabilitation of facades and roofs, framed within the municipal strategy Getafe Rehabilita. The total budget amounts to 425,000 euros, as reported by the council.
The line allocated for elevators has 225,000 euros and is aimed at buildings of three or more stories whose works have been completed between 1 January and 31 December 2025. Elevators that have already received grants from the City Council or another public administration are excluded. The grant covers 21% of the cost, with a maximum of 35,000 euros per elevator.
The second line, endowed with 200,000 euros, finances energy rehabilitation actions of the envelope, that is, facades and roofs, and includes the possibility of installing electricity generation systems for self-consumption on collective roofs of residential buildings. Works that reduce the energy demand of the property are subsidised. The amount can reach 25%, with a cap of 40,000 euros.

The City Council has also highlighted the increase in applications for the housing rehabilitation grants from the Municipal Housing Plan, resolved in the first half of the year. Municipal data reflects a growth of 300% in requests for energy improvement cladding, 185% for window replacements, and 86% for accessibility works, compared to the previous year.
According to the council, this increase is due to the simplification of the call's bases, greater dissemination in civic centres, and the informative sessions by the Healthy Homes team.
