The Alcalá de Henares Town Hall has begun this week the renovation of José Chacón street, next to Avenida Lope de Figueroa, with an investment of over 110,000 euros and a completion timeframe of three months.

The Alcalá de Henares Town Hall has launched this week the renovation of José Chacón street, located next to Avenida Lope de Figueroa. The project, included in the Alcalá Plan to improve its neighbourhoods, has an investment of more than 110,000 euros and an estimated timeframe of three months for its completion.

The current condition of the road surface and the affected section of pavement is very poor, as explained by the Councillor for Works and Urban Maintenance, Antonio Saldaña. The works include the renewal of the most damaged and obsolete pavement on the sidewalks, as well as the resurfacing of the road and measures to improve pedestrian accessibility.

Saldaña noted that this intervention follows the line of the work carried out on the parallel street José Caballero, where similar improvements were applied. The project also includes the renovation of the sidewalks at their junction with Fernando de Flandes and the widening of the sidewalks located between the flowerbeds and the battery parking area.

During the next three months, local residents will notice occasional traffic cuts and diversions, although the Town Hall has not specified the exact schedule of the phases. The work is part of a broader neighbourhood improvement plan aimed at renewing public spaces in various parts of the city.

With this action, the City Council aims to address a very deteriorated pavement and create more space for pedestrians on a residential street. The works are in addition to other interventions from the same plan that are being carried out in different neighbourhoods of Alcalá de Henares.
