Aranjuez tenders an SUV for Civil Protection on a leasing basis

The Aranjuez City Council has put out to tender the leasing of an SUV for Civil Protection for €86,400, with a deadline for bids that ended on July 21.

The Aranjuez City Council has put out to tender the leasing of an SUV/all-terrain vehicle for Civil Protection, with a budget of €86,400 and a duration of four years.

The Aranjuez City Council has tendered the hiring of the leasing of an SUV or all-terrain vehicle intended for the local Civil Protection Service. The contract, which is being issued through the State Contracting Platform, has an amount of €86,400 and a duration of four years.

The deadline for submitting bids ended on July 21 at 23:59 hours, and the vehicle must be delivered within a maximum of 90 calendar days from the formalisation of the contract. The council aims to strengthen the resources of a service that intervenes in emergencies, disasters, and adverse weather phenomena.

According to the technical specifications, the vehicle will be used for emergency interventions, disaster support, mobilising volunteers and teams, accessing rural roads, floods, strong winds, snowfalls or risk scenarios, as well as for transporting materials and signage.

The contract includes a new, equipped and marked vehicle, comprehensive maintenance, all-risk insurance with no excess, replacement in case of breakdown, ITV and emergency equipment. The duration of the lease is set at 48 months from the formalisation of the contract.

The spokesperson councillor of the Independent Citizens' Group for Aranjuez, Jesús Mario Blasco, has positively assessed the initiative:

We think it is excellent news that more resources are being provided to those groups that ensure safety and protection against adversities in our locality. We hope that the deadlines are met and that the best of the received bids is awarded... and although it may seem contradictory... we hope it won't have to be used very often.

Blasco added that he hopes this will be the first of more tenders to provide additional resources to the state security forces, and he has called for more motorised resources for the Local Police:

Now that our Government has a new budget... it is time to see if the announced benefits are translated into reality.

With this tender, the Aranjuez City Council takes a step towards modernising the vehicle fleet of local emergency services. The award will be known in the coming weeks, once the submitted bids have been evaluated.
