Car-sharing continues to accumulate trips in Boadilla del Monte. The companies Voltio and WiBLE have jointly accounted for 10,665 operations of trip initiation or completion between January and August 2026, compared to 8,236 during the same period in 2025. This is 2,429 more operations, a 29.5% increase.
The service was implemented in the municipality in September 2024, after the City Council of Boadilla del Monte promoted the arrival of car-sharing operators to expand transport options. Voltio began operations that month and WiBLE joined a few weeks later. The initiative started as a pilot experience, and its continuation depended on user reception.
Two years later, both companies remain active in Boadilla. The most common trips have destinations in Madrid and surrounding municipalities, as well as transfers to the airport, a use that was already identified as recurrent during the first year.
The model allows users to have access to a vehicle only when needed, without owning a car. In the context of the European Mobility Week, the City Council has reminded that it will continue to work to expand and complement mobility alternatives for residents and adapt them to different types of trips.
