The Galapagar Town Hall reviews the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities, which ended without notable incidents and with full attendance at concerts and the bullfighting fair. The security measures included drones, a canine unit, and 4,000 cup lids against chemical submission.
The 2026 Patron Saint Festivities of Galapagar concluded on September 15 with a positive assessment from the Town Hall, highlighting the high participation in scheduled events and the normalcy during the celebrations. The Plaza de la Constitución hosted full attendance at concerts by David Bustamante, Isabel Aaiún, and the group Pica Pica, among others.
The performance by the Orquesta Panorama, in the venue at the end of Calle Guadarrama, attracted a crowd and became one of the most popular meeting points. The bullfighting fair also saw a high turnout, with the square nearly full during the novice bullfights and a notable influx during the morning runs, which took place without any significant incidents.
The security measures coordinated the Local Police, Guardia Civil, Civil Protection, and emergency services, and included a drone unit, a canine unit, and surveillance cameras. As preventive measures, 4,000 cup lids and detection buckets against chemical submission were distributed, and a White Point was set up in front of the Plaza del Presidente Adolfo Suárez to address potential sexist situations.
This edition incorporated accessibility innovations, such as the FastPass priority access wristband, sensory kits, and information for individuals with ASD and other needs. The Nocturnal Owl service was also launched, providing night transport to facilitate safe returns home.
These festivities have once again shown that when Galapagar takes to the streets, it does so with a desire to enjoy, to meet, and to celebrate. We have experienced full squares, massive shows, a great response to our bullfighting fair, and, above all, festivities that have unfolded with normalcy and safety," said the festivities councillor, Javier Álvarez.
The councillor thanked the work of municipal workers, police, Guardia Civil, Civil Protection, clubs, brotherhoods, and associations, as well as the behaviour of residents and visitors. With this assessment, the Town Hall considers the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities closed.
