The Getafe City Council allocates €1,227,226 to replace around 800 streetlights in the Getafe Norte neighbourhood with LED technology. The initiative aims for energy savings of up to 68.76%.
The Getafe City Council, through the Maintenance delegation, has launched an initiative to renew the public lighting in the Getafe Norte neighbourhood. The investment amounts to €1,227,226 and includes the replacement of around 800 streetlights with LED technology.
The project adapts the installation to the layout of the trees, parking areas, and street design. The new light points will be installed at a height and type more suitable for each road, aiming to improve lighting levels and reduce energy consumption.
According to the Maintenance councillor, Roberto Fernández, the measure is part of the progressive replacement of streetlights that the council is carrying out in the municipality.

The City Council estimates savings of up to 68.76% in electricity consumption. This reduction is complemented by the decrease in CO2 emissions associated with the new installations.
The initiative affects the streets of Getafe Norte included in the scope of the work, where existing streetlights will be replaced with LED models.
