The Las Rozas City Council has presented the Security, Emergencies and Civil Protection Device for the San Miguel 2026 festivities, which will involve over 250 professionals. The plan includes two independent devices for the days of October 2 and 3, with thermal camera drones at the Fairgrounds.
The Local Security Board of Las Rozas de Madrid has approved the Security, Emergencies and Civil Protection Device for the San Miguel 2026 festivities, which will mobilise more than 250 professionals from Local Police, SAMER, and Civil Protection. The aim is to ensure the proper conduct of the events scheduled during the celebrations.
The meeting, held this Thursday, was chaired by the mayor, José de la Uz, and was attended by the Government's subdelegate in Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, and the head of the Security area of the General Subdirectorate of the Community of Madrid, Fernando Higueras Torres. Also present were the deputy mayor, Gustavo Rico, the councillors for Security and Emergencies, David Santos, and for Finance and Festivities, Enrique González, along with the head of the Local Police, Manuel López, and commanders from the Civil Guard of Las Rozas and the northwest area of the region.
The special plan includes two differentiated devices for the days of October 2 and 3, one at the Fairgrounds and another in the urban Centre. At the Fairgrounds, thermal camera drones will be used to monitor natural areas such as the Dehesa de Navalcarbón, which will remain closed to the public to prevent access to that area during the festivities.
This year there are many activities for the Festivities, so the security device has been especially reinforced,” said Mayor José de la Uz.
The coordinated deployment between local, regional, and state administrations aims to cover both the crowded events in the centre and the areas of attractions and recreation at the fairgrounds.
