The Majadahonda City Council has installed 87 new LED lights with remote management at the Fairgrounds, which will allow for an energy saving of 37%. A new access to the concert area has also been established to enhance safety.
The Majadahonda City Council has completed a comprehensive improvement of the lighting at the Fairgrounds, located between the road from Majadahonda to Boadilla and the Canal de Isabel II Path, next to the Adolfo Suárez Park. The work has involved the installation of 87 new LED lights with a total power of 12,000 watts, replacing the previous ones and increasing the light points in streets, paths, and transit areas.
The new LED technology incorporates a remote management system that allows for the regulation of lighting on and off, as well as the intensity of the light on demand. According to municipal calculations, this measure will result in an energy saving of approximately 37% for the entire city, while also improving nighttime visibility in the area and its surroundings.
In addition to the lights, the previous 4-meter low columns have been replaced with new ones that are 10 and 12 meters high, which expands the lighting radius and enhances safety in the most trafficked areas. The venue hosts events throughout the year such as amusement fairs, drone shows, sports events, and major concerts, especially during the Patron Saint Festivals in September.
The Councillor for Security and Festivities, Ignacio Silván, explained that a new access to the concert area has also been established, independent of the entrance and exit to the amusement area. “We continue to invest in the Fairgrounds, and after carrying out the comprehensive asphalt plan for this space, this year we have established a new access road to the concert area, separate from the entrance and exit to the area where the attractions are usually placed, to improve accessibility and ensure order and safety,” Silván stated.
The new road, which will be compacted, fenced, and illuminated, aims to improve accessibility for attendees and prevent crowding at the entrances. The main access to the venue remains unchanged, but once past the entry control, the path splits to separate the flows of the public towards the concert area and towards the attractions.
With this action, the City Council continues with improvements in the Fairgrounds, following the previously carried out comprehensive asphalt plan. The lighting renewal and the new access are part of a broader plan to modernize municipal infrastructures and ensure safety at the major events held in the locality.
