The Pozuelo del Rey Town Council has launched the Special Civil Protection Plan for winter weather, which includes measures for prevention and action against snowfall, frost, and cold waves.

The Pozuelo del Rey Town Council has activated the Special Civil Protection Plan for winter weather, a protocol that will be in effect throughout the cold season to coordinate the municipal response to snowfall, frost, and cold waves.

The plan, announced via a municipal decree, establishes guidelines for emergency services, street cleaning, and assistance to residents, with special attention to the most vulnerable areas of the municipality.

Among the planned measures, the council has set up a monitoring and action device to maintain mobility on the main streets and ensure access to basic services during episodes of snow or ice.

The decree also reminds residents of the importance of exercising extreme caution when travelling and following civil protection recommendations, such as avoiding road travel unless necessary or checking the state of the roads before travelling.

The Pozuelo del Rey Town Council advises residents that, in case of any emergency, they should contact 112 or the council at 91 873 53 03, which is available to address incidents arising from the weather conditions.

The plan is activated preventively each winter and will remain operational until weather conditions no longer pose a risk to the population, according to municipal sources.
