The Chico Mendes centre in Rivas-Vaciamadrid will celebrate the fifth edition of the Agroecology Festival on Sunday, September 20, a free access event without prior registration, running from 10:30 to 14:00 at the unnumbered street of Enebro.

The event, organised by the Soto del Grillo Agroecological Park and the Rivas-Vaciamadrid City Council, will bring together producers and groups linked to sustainable agriculture. Attendees will be able to buy seasonal products directly from the park's farmers, learn about the Urban Gardens programme, and participate in activities led by the Environmental Education Centre of the Community of Madrid.

The programme includes a storytelling session at 11:30 by Aspadir, a children's show between 12:00 and 13:00, and at 13:00, a tasting of native tomato varieties with a pumpkin raffle. Throughout the morning, from 10:30 to 14:00, the agroecological market will be operational.

A morning to celebrate the Rivas countryside,” according to the event's presentation.

The organisers explain that the aim of the festival is to promote and encourage a local, fair, and sustainable food system through agroecology. There will also be a gardener's photocall for attendees.

The activity will take place at the Chico Mendes centre and its surroundings, with free entry until capacity is reached. No reservation or prior registration is required.
