The Velilla de San Antonio Town Hall will prepare three municipal plots to create around 300 public parking spaces. The investment amounts to €170,000 and is included in the 2026 budget.
The Velilla de San Antonio Town Hall has activated a plan to prepare three municipal plots and enable around 300 new public parking spaces in the urban area. The total investment is €170,000 and is already included in the municipal budgets approved for 2026.
The most significant action will take place on Joselito Street, at the junction with Saiz de Rueda Street and next to the public school Valdemera. The plot, covering about 2,000 square meters, will be fully asphalted and will have horizontal signage to organise internal traffic and prevent irregular parking. It will have capacity for about 80 vehicles.
The second plot is located on Guerrita Street and covers 3,000 square meters. The work will include leveling the ground to direct water, compacting with sub-base material, and milling. It is expected to accommodate around 120 cars.
The City Maintenance and Security Councillor, Rodrigo Morales, has stated:
Our priority is for residents to gain comfort and peace in their daily lives. Enabling these 300 new spaces, and especially fully asphalting and organising the 2,000 square meters of Joselito Street, allows us to respond to a community demand and ensure much safer mobility for all pedestrians and drivers in Velilla.
In parallel, the Town Hall is studying a reorganisation of parking on several streets in Sector XXIII to change from parallel spaces to angled spaces. The streets being analysed are Dublin, Nicosia, and Berlin, which have the necessary road width for the change. This measure would allow for a multiplication of spaces without occupying new land.
Machines are already working on the 2,500 square meter plot on Venezuela Street, in front of the bullring. The ground is being stabilised with gravel through milling and will accommodate around a hundred cars. This area will absorb the demand for vehicles during the Patron Saint Festivals, which will take place in the coming weeks.
