The City Council of Móstoles, through the Department of Sports and Health, expands the municipal swimming offer by 150 places for the 2026-2027 season. The new places correspond to the activities of Kindergarten Swimming and Children's Swimming, which are taught at the Villafontana Sports Centre and at the Las Cumbres pool.
The Kindergarten Swimming activity is aimed at children aged 3 and 4 years, while Children's Swimming covers minors aged 5 to 14 years. In the first case, the program seeks adaptation and familiarisation with the aquatic environment through exercises that stimulate psychomotor and physical development. In the second, the sessions are adapted to the age and level of each participant to progress in learning and perfecting swimming, with a focus on coordination, attention, and socialisation.
The City Council frames this expansion within its objective of facilitating access for residents to sports practice from an early age. The municipal sports offer has increased since 2023 by nearly 3,000 users, an 11.25% increase.
