The Councillor for Sports, Silvia Castillo, and coach Susana Massó from the Velilla Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, have agreed on the planning for the 2026/2027 season and the regularisation of the use of municipal spaces.

The Town Hall of Velilla de San Antonio and the Velilla Rhythmic Gymnastics Club are already working on the upcoming sports season. Councillor for Sports, Silvia Castillo, met with Susana Massó, a board member and coach of the club, to review the 2025/2026 season and coordinate the project for next year.

The club, founded in 2000, has presented its planning for the 2026/2027 season, in which the Town Hall will collaborate again to promote this discipline. During the meeting, they also agreed to sign a document that will regularise the use of municipal spaces, aiming to strengthen coordination in the sports facilities.

The entity, which trains gymnasts from beginner levels to national competitions, faces the upcoming course with a special milestone: two young gymnasts trained at the club have qualified as coaches. An example of how sport creates role models and continues years of work.

On another note, Castillo informed the club about upcoming municipal actions regarding child and adolescent protection in the sports field. This project, which the department has been working on for months, will begin to develop in September with the aim of raising awareness and providing tools for safer sports.

The Town Hall expresses its gratitude to the Velilla Rhythmic Gymnastics Club for their dedication and commitment to the sport in the municipality.
