The Villanueva de la Cañada Rubik's Open 2026 brought together 92 players from different countries at the Santiago Apóstol Municipal Sports Centre. Raúl Martínez Redondo won in Skewb with an average of 3.28 seconds.
The Santiago Apóstol Municipal Sports Centre hosted the Villanueva de la Cañada Rubik's Open 2026 this past weekend, an event that gathered 92 players from various countries. The organisation was managed by the Madrid Speedcubing Association, under the regulations of the World Cube Association (WCA), and was supported by the Villanueva de la Cañada City Council.
The participants completed each of the events with averages of under a minute. In the Skewb category, the podium was led by Raúl Martínez Redondo, with an average of 3.28 seconds. He was followed by Manuel Prieto de Antón, second with 3.29 seconds, and Mar Gallego Vicente, third with 3.68 seconds.
The competition included eight categories: 2x2x2 Cube, 3x3x3 Cube, 4x4x4 Cube, 5x5x5 Cube, 3x3x3 One-Handed, Megaminx, Pyraminx, and Skewb.
The Councillor for Sports, Ignacio González, presented the awards to the winners during the closing day.
